Axle Information:
Heavy Duty 12K axle is constructed of 5" x 9/16" heavy wall tubing. The spindle is cold forged, fully machined and friction welded to the axle tube, creating a weld which is stronger than the base metal. Axles equipped with drum brakes have a two piece hub and drum assembly which has a replaceable steel armature for use with electric brakes. Oil caps are molded from high strength polycarbonate to minimize breakage and leakage. Timken bearings are lubricated with SAE 90 weight oil to assure long bearing life.
Dexter 12,000 lbs. electric brake axle with a 74" track and 47" or 46" spring centers, u-bolts, and springs without wheels and tires. 8-6.5" bolt circle flat faced (hub pilot) with 4.75" center bore. High strength 5" tubing. 6 leaf domestic slipper springs. High-quality self-adjusting 12 1/4 x 5" drum brakes.
