How To Know What Axle To Order:
When it comes to ordering axles, it can be very confusing. We do not want you to order to wrong axle so we are going to tell you the easiest way we know to determine which one you need.
How To Measure Your Axle:
Hub Face:
Refers to the length of the axle measured from the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side of the axle.
(where the studs protrude out from the hub or where the two wheels butt up to each other)
(when hubs are mounted on the beam).
You can measure from one hub where the studs start on the drum, to the hub on the other side of the axle.
You can also get this by measuring from where the two wheels butt together on one side of the axle to where the two wheels but up together on the
other side of the axle. (This measurement is important but not a deal breaker if its a inch or so different than what we show)
Spring Center:
is the approximate width of your trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the center of the seat on the other.
This axle beam comes with the spring seats welded on.
The easiest way to measure this is to have a friend help you. Have your friend hold the tape measure in the center of one spring one the axle while
you pull the tape measure down the same axle to the other side of the axle to the center of the other spring on the same axle.
This will give you your (SC) or Spring Center Measurement.
If your like myself and do not have many friends to help you out. The easiest way to measure when by yourself is:
Hook the tape measure on the outside of one spring, pull down the axle to the inside of the other spring on the axle axle.
This will also give you your (sc) or Spring Center measurement.
(This measurement is the most important measurement to get, so please double and triple check your measurement)
