The 172-53 grease seal is a standard triple lip trailer axle seal designed for 3500 lb - 4,200 lb trailer hubs. Featuring a 1.72 inch inner diameter and 2.56 inch outer diameter, this seal presses securely into the hub and rides on the spindle to keep grease in and dirt water and debris out.
This seal is commonly used on Dexter, Carter, and Lippert 3500 lb trailer axles, especially those using number 84 spindles and 1-3 8 inch inner bearings. The triple lip design provides improved sealing compared to standard double lip seals, helping extend bearing life in demanding towing conditions.
